This tournament is an exciting 6 team format! All teams play five times over the course of one hour and 40 minutes. Two teams accruing top points play in Championship. That is a lot of soccer and not a lot of standing around!
Games are played at Canyon View Park starting Tuesday June 5th. Tournament Tuesdays will go though August 7th, 2012. Games will be played on the smaller youth fields (U10)
Here is more info:
Each evening is completely seperate and results have not bearing on the next week. This truly is the perfect mix of Pickup soccer. Here's how it will work:
*There are spots for six teams of 6 people (plus two subs)
*The day of the game (Tuesdays), we'll take the RSVP list and ramdomly divide it up into teams (1,2,3,4,5,6)
*If you'd like to bring your own team of people to play, just RSVP and pay for them via Sports Conductor.
*Each Game will last 15 minutes (games start every 20 minutes)
*We'll keep track of scores. Every team gets 5 games
*This will be a great evening of playing and hanging out with an awesome bunch of soccer players.
3 points fir a win, 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss. The teams in the final two games are decided by points, then goal difference than goals scored. If the Final is still tied after 15 minutes, 5 minutes of "Golden Goal" will be played. If the game is still tied, there will be a penalty shoot out.
** PLEASE NOTE: You cannot RSVP until you have paid via Sports Conductor. Once the tournament is full, we will open up a waiting list for those that didn't get on. The cost is $5 per player, with refunds/credit available if you change your RSVP and a "Yes" to a "No" 48 hours before the game.

TOPSoccer is a community based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4-19, who has a mental or physical disabilty.
Last fall the Grand Juntion Soccer Club started a TOPSoccer program and had 30 kids participate. This with no funding. Just imagine what the program could do with your help by particpating in this worth while event.
GJSC Scholarship Program- Each year the Grand Junciton Soccer Club provides Scholarships to families in need. The Club as well as Rocky Mountain Orthopedics contributes over $8000 per year to this fund. |
